Loan / EMI Calculator
Work out your monthly instalment on a fixed-rate loan.
How EMI is calculated
Your Equated Monthly Instalment (EMI) is calculated using the reducing-balance formula, which spreads the principal and interest evenly across the loan term. The formula factors in your loan amount, the monthly interest rate, and the total number of monthly payments.
Tips for a lower EMI
- A longer loan term lowers your monthly EMI, but increases the total interest paid.
- A larger down payment reduces the principal, lowering both EMI and total interest.
- Comparing rates across lenders before committing can meaningfully cut your total interest.
- Does this include taxes or processing fees?
- No — this calculates principal and interest only. Add any lender fees separately for your final cost.
